Seeing that Google recently changed their terms of service, and now allows you to publish your GoogleAds earnings, I figure that I have an obligation to the readers of this blog to let you know that I’m now $18.12 richer for
adding GoogleAds to my site. Now, that was about 4 days shy of a month, and I haven’t changed my blogging habits to try to maximize earnings. I have no idea how Google figures out how much you earned, since it is based on what was clicked, not how many clicks you get. Some days I’d get 10 clicks and earn $0.17, other days I’d get 1 click and earn $1.39. Since Google will not bother to cut a check until you earn $100, it will be about 5 months before I see anything. The good news is that it almost covers my base hosting costs (
WebHosting4Life rocks), so if I roll it to the other sites I host, I may actually pay for all my hosting costs. The one thing I worry about is putting GoogleAds on the
ERDoc’s site, since the
GoogleAds Preview tool says that it will select online pharmacy ads for the site. Definitely not something that should be on a blog for an emergency medicine doctor. I think I’ll hold off on adding ads to his site.
